Easy to use interface
Flow Calc provides an easy to use interface that is streamlined and simplified for both English and
Metric Units. Extensive efforts were undertaken to provide a single screen interface to provide the most functionality for the design engineer. Effectively this allows the design engineer to monitor and correct channel geometries on the fly while at the same time being able to view the computational results immediately. Along with the data input controls for manual data entry, spin-controls are additionally provided to facilitate design review dynamically. A graphical representation of the channel geometry as entered by the design engineer provides a visual aide of the water surface elevation that is continually adjusted based upon input values.
Copy and Paste
Flow Calc supports copying computational results to the clipboard including a graphical representation of the channel geometry at a scale specified by the design engineer.
The data can then be pated into another application such as Mircosoft™ Excel or
Microsoft™ Word.

Flow Calc Templates
In addition to entering irregular channel sections, Flow Calc provides the design engineer with templates for common channel geometries, which may be further modified as may be desired by the design engineer. Templates included are rectangular channels, V-Shaped Channels, Trapezoidal Channels, and common street sections for 60 ft, 80 ft, and 100 ft right-of-ways. For pipe flow analysis, common templates for circular and elliptical pipe are included.
Flow Calc also allows the end user to add custom irregular channel geometries to the templates for future use on other projects.

6-Methods of Weighted N Computation
Flow Calc provides an extensive Mannings N table as obtained from the Handbook of Hydraulics, Seventh Edition, Table 7.14, by Ernest F. Brater, Horace W. King, James E. Lindell, and C.Y. Wei. Along with this comprehensive Manning's N Table of roughness coefficients, Flow Calc allows the design engineer to select any of the 6 commonly accepted methods for computing a weighted roughness coefficient across a channel section as follows:
- Weighted N: Constant across section
- Weighted N: Horton / Einstein Method
- Weighted N: Cox / USACE Method
- Weighted N: Colebatch / Cox Method
- Weighted N: Pavlovskii, Mühlhofer, Eeinstein,
Banks
- Weighted N: Lotter Method

Flow Calc Rating Table
Flow Calc provides the design engineer with a Discharge versus Depth rating table. The results produced by this table may be either copied for use within another application to create custom reports or may be printed directly to a printer.

|
Flow CALC Professional Reports
Flow Calc provides the design engineer with professional reports. Computational results can be printed or copied to the clipboard including a graphical representation of the channel geometry at a scale specified by the design engineer.
